    @gabbyrose4 I think it depends on the price point. The 200-450k market is the most competitive one as that's ultimately the point most first time buyers are in. I'd imagine this the range where you're most likely to see something go for over asking. From my experience, I'd say always allow 40-50k.

    @garyn Depends on the bank, I believe with BOI you can overpay as much as you want if you're on a variable rate, but it's limited to 10% over your monthly payments during the fixed period.
