Former company refuses to issue me a T2200 form

@all4christ10 Given that you have received a T2200 in the previous years but not one this year, if you can document your requests to get one for this year, you may be able to argue that the refusal to provide one is the result of your employer acting in bad faith and you may be able to claim the...

Former company refuses to issue me a T2200 form

@all4christ10 Regardless. I' would talk to your tax accountant as your tax accountant will be more knowledgeable than those of us here on what CRA's likely response would be, but the fact that the form takes longer now to complete doesn't sound like good faith when you had every reason to...

Former company refuses to issue me a T2200 form

@drew1986 Not necessarily true as it could be implied that it is part of the contract and withholding it is in bad faith given that it has been provided every year up to the termination. I don't understand why employers won't provide this. It doesn't cost them anything besides a few minutes...

Canada EI Employment Insurance - Possible Fines due to weekly reporting requirements and paycheck withheld every 2 weeks?

@dekta09 Now Service Canada AND Canada Post are dishonest, shady cheapskates. 🤣 Maybe owning your own dishonest shady cheapskate behaviour will make your situation better.

Canada EI Employment Insurance - Possible Fines due to weekly reporting requirements and paycheck withheld every 2 weeks?

@dekta09 The most awesome thing about the internet... everything is available forever. And it usually doesn't take long to find. Here's a youtube video showing the Canadian EI online reports from start to finish. It mentions gross pay... before deductions. And at 15:12 it talks about giving...

Canada EI Employment Insurance - Possible Fines due to weekly reporting requirements and paycheck withheld every 2 weeks?

@dekta09 Yes. How could you possibly have been aware that if you lied there would be consequences and they would demand the money back. I mean... it's not like it's not in the declaration you agree to when you submit your hours... and been there for decades. More like... how could you...

Canada EI Employment Insurance - Possible Fines due to weekly reporting requirements and paycheck withheld every 2 weeks?

@dekta09 You worked enough to earn over 1300 a week and didn't notice that you worked more hours than you did in December? Really? You thought you worked only enough to earn less than 1/4 of what you actually earned? You didn't notice that more than $800 went into your bank account? OK...

Canada EI Employment Insurance - Possible Fines due to weekly reporting requirements and paycheck withheld every 2 weeks?

@dekta09 Your deductions mean nothing. It is only your gross wages... hours worked times rate paid... that gets reported. You do not report your after tax money. There are millions of people in Canada... and they all manage. Furthermore, you have three weeks from the last report card to...

Canada EI Employment Insurance - Possible Fines due to weekly reporting requirements and paycheck withheld every 2 weeks?

@dekta09 Interesting. I don't do a lot with Canada labour standards - but it appears their standards do allow for two weeks. It shouldn't be more than that. And there is no way that Canada Post does not allow you to access your paycheque online. Ultimately, though, you know how much you...

Canada EI Employment Insurance - Possible Fines due to weekly reporting requirements and paycheck withheld every 2 weeks?

@dekta09 You don't have to fill out your cards at the start of every week before the week begins. Nor can I think of any jurisdiction where it is legal to withhold pay for two weeks from the cut off date. If you're trying your story to see if it will fly... it won't.
