I shouldn't have to choose between having money or healthcare

@katesierra I don't think you even need to lie; don't some state medicaid programs supplement your normal employer provided insurance if you have some sort of physical problem that require tons healthcare costs?

Dr had to drop me because I might lose my Medicaid if I continue to see him. Weird situation

@poseyka How would the provider know if the patient had Medicaid if the provider doesn't even take Medicaid?

Dr had to drop me because I might lose my Medicaid if I continue to see him. Weird situation

@aleethia Yea, in Michigan they don't care (in my experience)

I shouldn't have to choose between having money or healthcare

@hesedlove92 Who told you that? I think that you were misinformed about the marketplace. I think you are eligible for the marketplace. "If your share of the premium for self-only coverage in your employer plan is 9.61% or more of your 2022 household income, it is considered unaffordable, and...

I shouldn't have to choose between having money or healthcare

@hesedlove92 Does your employer pay any of the premiums? It sounds like you are on an individual plan, not group plan. If you are on an individual plan or a high deductible plan from your employer you can get an exception to qualify for subsidies from the ACA

Dr had to drop me because I might lose my Medicaid if I continue to see him. Weird situation

@wnnipooh I think the only solution is to find a new provider and if they don't take Medicaid you'll have to lie and say you don't have Medicaid or SSI or any other insurance and that you are cash pay. However, I don't know how that factors into your SSI because you need to continue your...

@katesierra I'm sorry for what you are going through, I hope things get better. Didn't Arizona pass the medicaid expansion from the ACA?

Maxed out Dental benefits - What can I do?

@veronica3 Why did they do this? Did they do the same amount of work in 3 visits instead of 4 or did they realize that they actually only needed to do less work and so it only took 3 visits to do everything required?

Maxed out Dental benefits - What can I do?

@veronica3 Then you have better dental insurance than most people. My mom just had to have a minor dental surgery and it cost her $900 out of pocket (insurance didn't cover any of it because she reached her max). And she is lucky it only cost her that much.

Maxed out Dental benefits - What can I do?

@veronica3 No it isn't. Most dental insurance is more like a coupon booklet than actual insurance

Us “poors” can’t get a real doctor anymore and finding a NP isn’t easy either.

@resjudicata Suppose that is going to vary by state, healthcare costs in NY and NJ are pretty crazy from what I've heard tbh. I live in Michigan and I've been to doctors at U of M hospital system and henry ford system and I've never had that happen. Go to know tho

@resjudicata I'm not saying such a thing can't happen but I've never had that done to me.

@teelea68 Just call a major hospital chain/system close to you and ask them

@teelea68 Do you live in a major urban area? Are there not any major hospital chains where you live?
