    @nick220 I was in a similar-ish position when I received a small inheritance. I paid off my student loans and threw the rest in a Vanguard brokerage account. It's all in VTSAX with the admiral shares and I'm just letting it ride until I need it or until I FIRE.

    @marissa90 Join the Air National Guard. You won't regret it. All my 1N4As immediately take jobs making a minimum of 80k after getting through JCAC.

    @dashestodashes They're in SoCal. Housing is obnoxious everywhere, but it's extra obnoxious in SoCal. You very likely could afford a house in many other parts of the country.
