Enjoying a life not spent working 24/7

@thursday Yeah, this is exactly the kind of thing I was talking about. Especially with property purchase. I'm pretty much wondering if people will use their time to prepare in a practical way. Because if they had extra time, a busy job can't be used as a reason to ignore it.

@racooracoo It's all good, yeah there is tons of misinformation floating around. Just straight up downloading the IPCC report and reading the data itself was easier than trying to navigate that minefield lol

@racooracoo I think its no different to basing your life around a job. People are scared of having nothing. I'm scared of climate change. It's really not that complicated.

@aned OK if that works for you, go for it. You have already lived life. Just realise I'm coming from a position of coming into adulthood, reading the data even if its hard to stomach, and realising I might not make it past 2050. Then accepting that. This isn't a "far future" thing, I will live...

@ethnosax So let me get this straight... Climate activists have lied about climate change. This is so they can pass legislation. This legislation will ensure that people have no money and eat insects, living in poverty. Then, the climate activists just chill because they've done their job...

@humbill Well now you've bought it up, that's literally what I'm in the process of doing. This post is just discussing how the whole lie flat movement and climate action could intersect. Not trying to make a grand statement about my position here.

@resjudicata Eco anxiety is a bitch, trust me, you don't want to mess with it

@solomon33 Thanks. I just read that part and was like "What? Can they read my mind or something? I don't know how it's going to go" lol Yeah life is unpredictable as hell. This is just a question to satisfy my curiosity. In reality nothing is simple.

@solomon33 What do you mean by, "things aren't going to go the way you think"?

@ima_believer Growing... beef? 🤔 Beans maybe? Modern agriculture is not the only way, I genuinely encourage you to look up regenerative agriculture and permaculture.

@cielo77 Watched the video, I think I get where you're coming from a little more now. In that video, pretty much they're forced to do less of what they've been doing in the name of lowering emissions. That sounds good on paper but in reality it puts the farmers in a difficult position. My...

Enjoying a life not spent working 24/7

@cielo77 You should look up regenerative agriculture. Permaculture is another one. If neither of those spark your interest, then look into the soil cycle. Fertilizers destroy the natural cycle of soil. It's like pouring sand onto your crops. It just starts the cycle from square one, not...

@dewguru Yeah that's kinda how anxiety works. Same if I got into a car accident or something. Same level of anxiety, different threat.

@nonkululeko Yeah that's the logical answer, but eco anxiety doesn't care. It's pretty much just my survival instincts screaming "You're going to die!!!"

@yole I have, it's a normal response to climate change. Kids, people working in climate fields, young adults etc tend to get it. I'm doing a lot better now, if that's what you're asking.

@benz_iris I'm sorry you struggled during covid, it sounds like you went through a difficult time. For me personally, climate is a bigger stress. Eco anxiety involves a lot of derealization, panic attacks, I sincerely hope you never have to experience it. But if you're wondering why climate...

Enjoying a life not spent working 24/7

I'm kinda piggybacking off that one post that got big lately, about Australian youth giving up on the rat race. Say this sentiment gets bigger over the years. More and more people choose to work the bare minimum and instead spend their time enjoying life. But they can't fully enjoy it...
