What type of attorney do I need

@girdyourloins You do not hire a lawyer, you pay insurance for these type of things. If the impatient neighbor is going to sue you all you do is present the information to your insurer and they will handle accordingly. Sounds like the neighbor is trying to scare you into paying for something...

    Home Ins. Claim Feedback

@thislifeandthenext 1) You did not have a "flood" you had a sewer and drain water back up due to sump pump failure. In order for this type of loss to be covered your policy would need to cover sewer and drain, most base policies do not, or need an endorsement for sewer and drain coverage. 2)...

Large homeowner claim for water damage, how much negotiation room

@alan226 Don't compare the ACV amount to the estimate amount, compare the Adjuster's Replacement Cost Value (RCV), and their scope of work vs the contractor bids. If your contractor bids are not providing an itemized estimate that details out the labor and material costs, quantity and grade...

    Insurance claim low balling

@perdedoras Well there are many factors that are not mentioned here to properly recommend anything. To name a few: Is the $11k the actual cash value (ACV) amount for the repairs or the replacement cost value (RCV) amount for the covered damages? Does your policy have RCV coverage? What has...
