@lonelymama Through EasyEquities you can invest in USD with reasonably low fees, but with the exchange rate as it is... On the other hand, through the same platform I've had success buying the ETFs Sygnia MSCI US and Satrix MSCI World.

Interactive Brokers announces zero monthly maintenance fees

@lisha That's great to know! I actually already opened an account a couple months ago but haven't funded it yet because of the inactivity fee. How do you find the platform? I have looked into it and it seems like each position transfer is $25. I have 14 different shares in EE USD in low amounts...

Interactive Brokers announces zero monthly maintenance fees

This is fantastic. I've been hanging onto the EE USD account for its fee structure but I rate it's time to switch. Has anyone else done a position transfer from EE to IBKR?

    Sygnia Retirement Annuity Options

@francis2 I'd love to! If I didn't have a full time job and upcoming board exams to study for in the evenings help me I honestly do believe that the number one way people become wealthy is by owning their own business. It is near impossible to get there as an employee, unless you're really...

The Index Card of Financial Rules

@marebear It's true that employee pension plans are too often convoluted plans with managers-on-managers-on-managers and fees-on-fees-on-fees. An independent financial adviser who signs a company up to an Allan Gray fund which invests in a Coronation fund which invests in a bunch of other mutual...

    Sygnia Retirement Annuity Options

@faith4l I think you're right. Going to just leave it up to Sygnia.

The Index Card of Financial Rules

Someone just posted on the Fat Wallet Community on Facebook (the group for listeners of the Fat Wallet Show podcast) about a book called The Index Card by Harold Pollack and Helaine Olen. The concept is that all the personal financial advice you need can be written on an index card, such an...

    Sygnia Retirement Annuity Options

I have the Sygnia Skeleton Balanced 70 fund (0.43% TER) through the Sygnia RA. I’m happy with the nearly 30% max offshore exposure but wish it had more equity exposure (currently 69% and can be up to 75%) and less in cash (nearly 7% currently) Does anyone manage their own Sygnia RA, and what...
