    [Update] App for tracking investments

@resjudicata This is my first app that I'm building for people to use. I'll have to look how F-droid works, and what I need to do. Could you point me to some resource that would be helpful to me?

    What MFs did in September

@samoisus That's what I'm afraid of. Every mutual fund I hold has exposure to it. Heck, I even have direct exposure to it, albeit very small. But, the way it delivers 20% growth like clockwork, there's massive FOMO in the industry.

    What MFs did in September

Really sorry I could not do this post last month, since I was slightly busy with the investment tracking app that I was working on (r/Artos). Here's the post for this month. Companies MFs love the most. This is computed as the weighted average of the AUM allocation for the company for the...

    [Update] App for tracking investments

@vasnthi What's your phone screen size? I tested this on my phone, which is 6 I think. The issue seems to be that the GOT IT button is out of the screen! :(

    [Update] App for tracking investments

@hevin7th I'll look into how I can improve the auto complete feature then. Thank so much for the feedback. I've checked yahoo finance (which I fetch the history from), and it shows the NAV to be 32.23 on 23rd Feb'18. I checked AMFI and that too shows a price of 32.23 for 23rd Feb. See the entry...

    [Update] App for tracking investments

@hevin7th Thank you for detailed feedback! :) Yes, I think several other people have reported this, and it seems to me that this because the app is doing a lot of data fetch in the background on first start. I am working to fix this. The fund adding process is manual! :( So, I might have missed...

    [Update] App for tracking investments

@ronstlaurent Thank you for the detailed response. Really appreciate it. I do plan to add more funds (and ETFs), and other assets. The vision is to let people track everything at one place, as you mentioned. But, at this point, I'd like this to be good at one thing, and then scale to other...

    [Update] App for tracking investments

@ronstlaurent I think there's a lot of feature gaps right now, for ex, capital gains for the current FY, tax harvesting, supporting more stocks and funds. I'd like to work on those first. Do you think there would be huge demand for crypto?

    [Update] App for tracking investments

Earlier thread: One, Two, Three I am finally here with what I think will be the first version of the app. You can view some screenshots here. The current features that are supported are: Purely client side app. The app does not require you to login, and does not send any data to private...

Should we hold cash, or until when?

@shel75 So, in the current experiment, the assumption is you get Rs. 1000 at the beginning of each month. Buy ASAP means you deploy that cash as soon as you can, i.e the first day of the month when the market is open. Maximum cash deployment means the maximum cash you ever deployed on a single...
