    Power and fibre providers

@niknak91 Controlled vs uncontrolled is about power to your hot water cylinder. Peak/off peak/nights is different price rates for the different times of day. I’m currently with octopus with no daily charge and my rates are less(the rates are less because of my location), I don’t have a daily...

@jgeral0172 Tell that to New World and the Mad Butcher and the every other retail butcher I’ve been to or worked for.

    Alternatives to museli bars?

@corey7973 Make your own. I’ve got a no bake recipe I found on line. Finding the original again is hard. Mine is 1 cup rolled oats, 1 cup desiccated coconut, 1/2 cup wheat germ, 1/2 cup sunflower seeds, 1/2 cups sesame seeds, 1/2 cup pumpkin seeds (the seeds can be swapped for seeds you like or...

Buying meat at the end of the day

@ella1838 Nope. Most places repack the meat once then turn it into mince if it doesn’t sell. If your supermarket packs in store check the time on the label, early in the day (typically between 6 and 7am) it’s usually already been on the shelf for 4 days.

    Cheap data?

@resjudicata Do you actually need mobile data? Do you have wifi at home? I refuse to pay for mobile data, I have unlimited at home (currently using 2degrees fibre broadband). If I really need data while I’m out, libraries, supermarkets and the warehouse have free wifi.

    75L free petrol

@resjudicata Is there a minimum amount of fuel that needs to be purchased in each transaction when buying fuel or filling up? I ride a Vespa and 5-7 litres free fuel a month would be great for me, it would save me about 25% of my fuel budget (or all of it if I don’t need to take my bike anywhere)

    Electricity Tips

@baccamudkipz If you already have and use a heat pump, it’s there use it. Yes, there are more efficient ways of reducing humidity but if you have your heat pump set up right it will help keep humidity down in the home. Also, I don’t recommend drying washing inside, just airing it out and...

    Electricity Tips

@joillian If you’re struggling you’re not buying cream. Also, the cost to run an egg beater for 5-10 mins is not worth penny pinching for, it’s probably less than a cent. Don’t run a dryer, use a clothes line. If you need washing aired and you have a heat pump, set the heat pump to...
