Kiwibank now have Google/Apple pay, so you're out of excuses for banking with the Aussies.

@wedinn And there we have it. You clearly don’t actually do anything with a bank that requires talking to a real person. Not that you can with kiwibank any more given their hardon for closing branches left right and centre. I’m glad we moved from them, they were always behind everyone else and...

Mercury high gas bill despite not using heating at all.

@hisdorkette88 Anyone using a bottle a month is either a massive multi-generational household or has serious energy consumption issues. Either way they’d likely be better off on gas than electric hot water and cooking.

Mercury high gas bill despite not using heating at all.

@hisdorkette88 I never said we were paying $4 a month for the gas. I said we were paying $4 a month for the bottle rental, in response to someone saying their reason for getting rid of the gas was the daily charge for piped gas being expensive. My point was the bottle charges are far cheaper...

Mercury high gas bill despite not using heating at all.

@hisdorkette88 45kg bottles, and would love to see where you’re getting delivery charges from. None of the main providers of residential LPG bottles have delivery charges as standard. The only time you would pay a delivery charge is if you requested an urgent same day (or possibly next day)...

Mercury high gas bill despite not using heating at all.

@crow123 Yea the point of $4/month was in relation to comparing to the fixed daily charges for piped gas. $150-180 a bottle is massively excessive compared to what we pay though, where in the country is that? We only pay $129 a bottle here in Christchurch and that’s not even the cheapest...

Mercury high gas bill despite not using heating at all.

@hisdorkette88 I’ve never paid a delivery charge for my LPG bottles, across several properties 🤷🏼‍♂️ the $4 monthly bottle rental includes the swaps. Never known of anyone else I know with their house on bottled gas to have delivery charges either. I can only assume you’d be paying delivery...

Mercury high gas bill despite not using heating at all.

@extreme_zeal777 Look into bottles instead. Keep all your existing gas appliances, and all the benefits of gas, at a fraction of the cost. Our bottles are only $4/month

    Election finances

@truthbetold Figures like this are a bit useless though as an attack piece. If you’re working full time and earning less than $45k a year, you’re on less than minimum wage. Which in effect means for the figures you’ve quoted to be legal, you’re likely working less than full time, for not much at...

Mercury high gas bill despite not using heating at all.

@mom22feb Shit like this is why bottled gas is far superior to piped. All the benefits of using gas, none of the beholden to the supplier when not in use* *(mostly not, I still pay a bottle rental but the $4/month I pay in bottle rental is definitely better than the $50-80/month that seems to...
