    @caramelalo They're not on £25k though, but on £42k. £42k/54*1.01540 = £1411/year. If they live for 35.5 years after retirement they will have received £50k in today's money from this.

    @shadow2 That's not correct as they've put in money over this period and the annualised rate could be over 9%. Your calculation is only correct if they put in all the money seven years ago and nothing after. Without telling us exactly how much money was put in when it's impossible to calculate...
