    Pay/tax issues

@talitha1031 Tried to get a W2-C from DFAS CIV pay. I had to call, couldn’t get my finance office to do it. DFAS says if I want a W2-C I have to fax or mail a letter, no email. There is no working fax machine I can find. Finance told me yesterday that DFAS says for any debt under $3,000 I can...

    Pay/tax issues

Note* 2023 pay was corrected when they noticed the issue at the end of 2022. So I overpaid in 2022 and the debt letter is dated 2023. So I’ll have to refile 2022 taxes? 2023 wages were all as the should be.

    Pay/tax issues

In 2022 I was a temp technician (ANG) I was paid as a GS-9 from October-early December. When I was supposed to be paid as a GS-7 I was notified of the debt ~December 15 but the debt letter was not official until the first week of January 2023 thus falling on 2023s tax year. My W-2 for 2022 shows...

For temp...

28 Y/O thinking about joining the military (air force or army)

@ray88c GI bill is the same, just takes longer to be 100% vested in it. I believe 2 years of active service gives you 100% GI bill. There’s a Montgomery bill but even when they explained that at BMT I couldn’t track. Idk if it’s the same or different. As an AGR I will get this faster than my...

28 Y/O thinking about joining the military (air force or army)

@ray88c Yeah it’s just the National Guard but Air Force. The “default” is one weekend a month 2 weeks in the summer. “National Guard” is Army Air National Guard is Airforce, but we fall on the Nation Guard umbrella. Unfortunately you won’t move as you pick the state. Pretty sure every state has...

28 Y/O thinking about joining the military (air force or army)

@ray88c Thought about the Air Guard? I left a six figure sales job, the pay cut for sure sucks. You can get a high paying job, take deployments as they are offered and your civilian jobs have to retain you. But just like the reserves the Guard alone will not pay your bills and is a different...
