[virginia] OK GUYS I NEED ANSWERS!!!

@maduere Oh ok so because you got put on PEUC a week before it expired, they’re only giving you 1 week of PEUC under the CARES ACT. This is totally ok. I live in CA so I’m not familiar with Gov.go, we just use UI online here. I would wait until Sunday to see if you can certify . I can just...

[virginia] OK GUYS I NEED ANSWERS!!!

@maduere That’s because PEUC expired on 12/26. I don’t know why you haven’t been paid for the 2 weeks since your UI exhausted though, because PEUC is still offered until then. I’m going to assume it’s because of all the changes. I wouldn’t worry about it at all. Your state has gone ahead and...

[virginia] OK GUYS I NEED ANSWERS!!!

@maduere Wait so you’ve exhausted UI already? When? The benefit year is 52 weeks while UI is only 26 weeks. So you’ll always exhaust UI long before your claim ends. You cannot file a new claim until your benefit year ends (1 year from when you filed). So if you just exhausted those 26 weeks of...

[virginia] OK GUYS I NEED ANSWERS!!!

@maduere If you’re really only collecting UI (those initial 26 weeks), you’ll have to finish those weeks first. Just make sure you’re on UI and not PEUC. The PEUC extension is done automatically in a lot of states and some people don’t even know they’re on it. So I’ll assume you’re still on UI...

[All states] 10 or 11 weeks. It was 11 weeks. It is still 11 weeks

@metraclarke Thank you! I have read parts of the bill though and it was discussed in Congress and they specifically made sure that retroactive pay wasn’t included and that the bill/extension would only apply after it becomes law. When reading this, when are you thinking the retroactive payments...

[All states] 10 or 11 weeks. It was 11 weeks. It is still 11 weeks

@metraclarke It’s saying benefits are retroactive to when the program starts officially (this is what I’m saying). The article also points out that the final week of the year will not be paid out because “states can't provide benefits for weeks that start before programs are authorized.” So...

[All states] 10 or 11 weeks. It was 11 weeks. It is still 11 weeks

@metraclarke The bill specifically says no retroactive payments and the new terms would only apply once the bill is signed:) so no retro.

[All states] 10 or 11 weeks. It was 11 weeks. It is still 11 weeks

@clovispower Thank you. We will see. CNN and many other media outlets have reported that we will only be getting 10 weeks though. It’s said that we’ve lost a week because since the bill was signed today and it’s the first day of this week, this week is now gone. I hope you’re right though:)
