@4everu I think you were just dealing with somebody that didn't know what they were talking about. In my experience with TD they have never had account opening fees for investment accounts. Just maintenance fees if you don't maintain a minimum balance of investments.

@kman474 There are multiple investment accounts held by my wife and myself in easyweb as well as DI, set up at various times between 2008 and now. Have never once paid a setup fee for anything. That said they did up and change their TFSA accounts to add an "account closing fee" for accounts...
