2023 TFSA dollar limit confirmed at $6,500

@omowunmi I can’t imagine that would have any material effect on the price of any ETF, because all that anyone should want to pay for an ETF is the net asset value, and the NAV of VEQT is largely driven by foreign stocks, the market for which is by and large not Canadians. 2023 TFSA dollar limit confirmed at $6,500

@davidcn Honestly I don’t know. It’s not like I’m being paid to provide this information or have anything to gain at all by posting correct or incorrect info… I think some people just enjoy arguing for no reason.

2023 TFSA dollar limit confirmed at $6,500

Edit for clarity: confirmed by me, not the government. Note: on the mobile app, you may need to swipe to the right on the table to see all 7 columns. The average CPI for all items for October 2021 to September 2022 was 148.842 (source), representing an increase of 6.3% over the previous...

@lt3 Despite how unsure of myself I may sound in my title (which is a joke directed toward certain comments on a similar post I made last year) I am very confident in the math in my table.

As a result, the indexed TFSA dollar...

    TFSA Dollar Limit - Calculation

@lettyvdax Not quite, it’s indexed effective 2016 but with a starting point of $5,000 and calculated from 2009 as per the definition of “TFSA dollar limit” in section 207.01 of the income tax act.

@asmodea It’s not an intuitive calculation at all. I spent a bit of time to work through it.

    TFSA Dollar Limit - Calculation

Edit: on the mobile app, make sure to swipe right on the table to see all 7 columns Given the recent post and confusion on how the TFSA dollar limit is calculated, I thought I would share the calculation in the table below, because CRA doesn't. Note that the CPI Average (third column) is based...
